Cardiac rehabilitation (cardiac rehab for short) helps you get back to as full a life as possible after a cardiac event such as a heart attack, heart surgery or stent procedure.
Cardiac rehab gives you and your family the information, support and advice you need to return to everyday life.
Cardiac rehab is a vital part of your long term recovery, so consider it as important as taking your medication.
Research has shown that cardiac rehab can reduce your risk of having another heart event, being readmitted to hospital and has a positive impact on your wellbeing and quality of life.
Welcome to YOUR Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme. I am a Level IV Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise
Instructor and I will work closely with you to develop an individualised exercise programme to help
you to achieve your aims.
The programme considerations are, primarily, safety and enjoyment. The
programme will be hard enough so that you can feel that you getting fitter but within safe
parameters that we will agree between us.
Each form of exercise will follow a strict pattern to enable you to safely gain maximum benefit:
To get the full benefit of a cardiac rehabilitation exercise programme you will need to commit to exercising in some form at least 150 minutes each week, 5 sessions of 30 minutes on five occasions throughout the week. This can consist of supervised programmes with me, a Home Exercise Plan that we will agree for you and other forms of exercise such as walking and hobbies.

Having had two heart procedures in two weeks I was lost for finding a structured, disciplined and inspiring cardio rehab course. I found it with Steve who is simply very, very good at what he does. Use him...you will sweat, laugh and ache a bit in the morning!
